Meet Joanna van der Hoeven
Joanna van der Hoeven has always been a writer.
From the tender age of thirteen, she literally penned her first novel in an old school notebook. From then on, she moved to a manual and then electronic typewriter, clacking away into the evening from her little bedroom in her family’s house in Quebec, Canada. After a long hiatus from writing for a couple of decades, she returned to it in 2012, creating non-fiction works, and then in 2024, returned to her true love of writing fiction.
Joanna has written many non-fiction books exploring the traditions of both Druidry and Hedge Witchcraft. She has also worked in Pagan traditions since 1991, and has published many books, articles, blogs, and videos on the subject.
Born in Canada, Joanna has lived in England since 1998. She now lives on the Suffolk Coast in a little village nestled in the heathland, with the forest and the sea near to her door.
